Closure:  original matching amber glass lid, original cast iron yoke clamp with thumbscrew, and original sealing gasket

Appearance:  sparkling glass showing very little signs of use

Condition:  virtually perfect, with only some pinpoint nicks on the glass lid

Embossing:  strong

Base: "4"

Age:  late 1800's

Availability:  Rare. The original discovery of these jars consisted of about 12 examples, discovered during the clean out of a residence in Milwaukee, Wisconsin many years ago. The former occupant had been a homeopathic physician, who had presumably special-ordered these in amber from Whitall-Tatum Company for use in his medicinal business in the late 1800's. This one is a beautiful example in fine condition.
