Closure: rare original unlined tin cap with two vertical prongs and a small circle of impressed patent date lettering (appears to be "CHACES" Pat 1857), in good overall shape with no splits or pinholes
Appearance: shiny glass with seedy character, a trace of haze inside the base
Condition: normal flaking of the ground mouth, has a manufacturer's bubble in the mouth that was cut through when grinding the lip that has some entrapped residue
Embossing: strong
Base: flat unmarked base
Age: c1860
Availability: scarce early Mason and a sharp example with rare lid
