Closure: original small-mouth size high-finned glass lid with 1868 patent date and original shaped brass wire clamp in untouched old dark patina
Appearance: sparkling glass with whittled character throughout
Condition: normal flaking of the ground mouth, has a reflective cooling fissure that runs vertically up the side of the neck as shown
Embossing: strong, and note the plated-out lettering which is unknown
Base: unmarked
Age: c1870
Availability: a rare early jar and a fantastically crude specimen
