Size: QUART measuring about 8-3/8" tall
Color: DEEP BLUE
Closure: heavy applied ring collar mouth and comes with a Bodine style 2-1/2" cast iron stopper (replaced wing nut)
Appearance: sparkling glass with a hammered whittle effect
Condition: a small edge flake on top of the lip, and has a manufacturer's cooling fissure running just under the applied ring as shown, very hard to notice
Embossing: n/a
Base: iron pontil scar
Age: 1850's
Availability: a rare early jar in a fantastic color, made in the Ohio Valley, probably either Pittsburgh or Louisville
