Availability: Rare in amber. The jar was never used for home canning, but rather it was part of a special order run made for a doctor of homeopathic medicine located near Milwaukee in the late 19th century. Most of the known examples in amber came from a discovery made 40+ years ago, intercepted as they were being discarded in a local dump. Whitall-Tatum ran advertisements in the late 19th century offering to provide their products in any color by special order. It seems that this customer took them up on the offer, and a few of these fabulous amber jars have survived.
