Closure: applied grooved ring wax sealer mouth finish with a sheared inner lip, and comes with an early unmarked tin cap, remains of paraffin in the groove
Appearance: crude character with heavy seed bubbling and shiny glass
Condition: a piece of the inner sheared lip is missing as shown, has a manufacturer's pot stone above the heel in back with small legs
Embossing: strong
Base: iron pontil scar
Age: 1850's
Availability: a scarce early jar that looks great in a window
