Closure:  original glass stopper with FEB 6TH 1866 patent date (edge & lug chips)

Appearance:  shiny glass

Condition:  jar in good shape with no damage

Embossing:  strong, and note that the lettering is superimposed over an erased "ADAMS & Co MANUFACTURERS PITTSBURGH PA"

Base:  unmarked

Age:  c1870

Availability:  a scarce early jar and a sharp example
