Closure: original glass lid and an old cast iron yoke clamp with heart-shaped thumbscrew and coil spring tip (the clamp is clearly old but the yoke is shaped somewhat differently than most originals)
Appearance: sparkling glass with a light whittled effect
Condition: Good including an excellent ground lip with very little flaking. The neck has a fine vertical whitish streak as shown, that appears to be in-making.
Embossing: strong
Base: unmarked
Age: Late 1800's.
Availability: A scarce early jar. Ex: George McConnell, as identified by his distinctive original inventory tag that still remains on the base, which shows that he purchased the jar in April 1974 for 190.00.
