Color: glazed stoneware (lid is a slightly different color than the jar, but is original to the jar)
Closure: original lid and wire bail & clamp assembly

Availability: Extremely rare, possibly singular. In the more commonly seen version of this jar, the advertising on the lid reads "Made By United Sales Association" of Terre Haute. The lid on this jar however, advertises for the W.H. PAIGE & Co of Terre Haute. William H Paige was the founder of the well-known Paiges Music Store in Terre Haute where they sold musical merchandise such as instruments, books, and phonographs. As to why a Music Store would have given away canning jars, is somewhat of a mystery though.
