Closure: original glass lid and an old cast iron yoke clamp with heart-shaped thumbscrew and coil spring tip (the clamp is clearly old but the yoke is shaped somewhat differently than most originals)
Appearance: lightly whittled all over and sparkling clean
Condition: no damage including an excellent ground lip with very little flaking
Embossing: strong
Base: unmarked
Age: late 1800's
Availability: a very scarce early jar and a beautiful example
