Closure:  original glass lid and original cast iron yoke clamp with thumbscrew

Appearance:  shiny glass

Condition:  no damage including rare perfect lid and a perfect lip

Embossing:  strong, and note that the cut-off lettering was the result of this jar having been blown in a mold created by cutting down an old square-shouldered pint mold

Base: unmarked

Age:  late 1800's
