An original wooden shipping crate for half gallon Globe jars. As with all known examples of Globe boxes, only one end is stenciled with the Globe lettering. The other end of the box, however, is marked "AMBER". Measures about 19" x 14" x 11" tall. The bottom side was opened originally, leaving the top boards in place. Has some old added strips of wood as shown, where someone shored it up in order to use it for a secondary purpose. Extremely rare, and the first example of a half gallon Globe box we've seen.
