Availability: Extremely rare in this dramatic color variation on the usual clear glass series. Made by the Canton Glass Co of Canton, Ohio circa 1890, perhaps as a small special order run. Since matching lids were pressed, it is unlikely these were made surreptitiously by an employee as a take-home item, but rather the jars were probably made to satisfy an custom order. Very few are known to have survived. A fantastic looking old jar in this shocking color.
