Size: HALF GALLON
Color: a deeper shade of Amber
Closure: original matching glass lid and original iron clamp assembly (lid has two flakes off the center dimple)
Appearance: crude, seedy, and sparkling glass
Condition: no damage to the jar, including a good ground lip with very little flaking
Embossing: strong
Base: "53"
Age: late 1800's
Availability: scarce in this deeper color and a sharp-looking example
