Availability: Scarce. Made in a special run at the Ball Bros glass plant in Wichita Falls, Texas circa 1934. The jars were intended to benefit the orphanage during the tough times of the Great Depression. The jars were distributed individually to local farms and homesteads, with a request for the family to donate in the form of filling the jar during their normal fall canning to help supply food for the orphanage. The Methodist Children's Home still exists there today.
