Size: HALF GALLON
Color: clear with a slight green tint
Closure: Original wide mouth zinc cap with "RUBY" in raised script. Liner is not glass but a very light weight resin or plastic-like material. The zinc is somewhat rough with several small holes but still solidly intact.
Appearance: crude and seed bubbly glass character throughout
Condition: no damage, one small open bubble on the lip
Embossing: strong
Base: "RUBY"
Age: early 20th century
Availability: Rare. These obscure jars remain as something of a mystery. They appear to have been an attempt to copycat the popular Ball series of canning jars.
